Size is something that is hard to discern from these submitted deviations. I've shrunk them down to an incredible degree. For instance, this piece, when printed at its full size, is around 6' tall and around 3' wide. Many of the other submitted works were large as well ( 3'x4' ). This was done so it would be easy to take the printed work and translate that into a physical model.
This final digital piece is the culmination of my research and allowed me to become more aware of the processes I had taken place, artistically and architecturally.
A process of overlapping and folding upon itself. Creating formal visual expressions and translate that into a physical 3d object. I would then photograph it, pushing it back into 2d, and interpret it again, over and over until I produce a clear form.
Perhaps one day I will take this method and translate it into an art series.
I looked at an architecture theory book the other day that had real life models of pure random geometry, blocks, sticks, mesh, toothpicks, matchsticks, and everything else. While random, it was sensibly organized. These "studies" are quite fascinating and can get so intricate. I enjoyed looking at these too
